Lakadong turmeric is a GI-protected origin — only turmeric grown in the Jaintia Hills of Meghalaya may carry the name. Ours is sourced from that region, harvest by harvest.
Certified farms, honest labels.

VIROOT held NPOP organic certification from 2024 until January 2026, and we chose not to renew it. Those two certified years did their most valuable work: they led us to the certified-organic farms we buy from today, and taught us to deal with them the way the system intends — through transaction certificates, lot by lot. Renewing our own certificate would have added cost to every pack without adding anything to what's inside it.
The farms we buy from today are the same ones we found and verified during those certified years — dealing lot by lot, against transaction certificates. Without our own certificate we can no longer receive TCs, so we make no organic claim on our packs: we only print what the certificate chain currently supports.

We publish what we can prove and say "on request" where a document is still being digitised. We do not sell our spices as cures, and we never publish a number we cannot stand behind. If anything on this page looks out of date, write to us — a person answers, not a bot.
